Video Production Business Tips - Rock Star Status

Party Like a Video Production Rock Star!

Even though I’m highly motivated to be successful in my video production business and pretty passionate about my craft, I’ve noticed a lot lately that I don’t seem to have the same zest for what I’m doing as I did back before the economic meltdown in 2008 and 2009.

On the passion scale of 1 to 100, I’m at about on 78 right now. Before 2008, I registered in at about 999 on the same scale. I loved what I was doing and was very excited about my progress in business at that point in time.

After wondering for months where my passion had gone and what it would take to get it back…it hit me after seeing several likes from clients, prospects and referral partners on one of the self-promotional videos I posted on my 6 STRONG MEDIA Facebook page earlier this week. How to Use “Networking” to Grow Your Video Production Business

I get asked all the time what I think the fastest way to grow a video production company is. My answer has been and always will be “to become a networking rock star and attend as many of these types of meetings as possible!” The more people you know, the faster you will grow.

It details his experience with BNI (Business Networking International) and offers tips on how to get the most out of that organization. Click Here to Continue Reading…

The Magic Question

It took me years to figure out a full proof way to sell corporate video production services to high level executives. I used to think it was all about the pitch or all about how eloquent my writing was in the form of a brochure or letter. What I realized after a lot of frustration (and money) was that it’s not what you tell these people that makes a difference…it’s first what you ask them, then it’s what you show them. Your Mouth Was Made For Talkin’

Enthusiasm

Enthusiasm is Contagious

When I first started my business, I thought that to be successful meant to be serious. That when I had the opportunity to talk with a potential client about a video, I needed to take a no-nonsense approach to selling my video production services.

What I learned over time is that not a lot of people want to work with someone who isn’t outwardly excited about their project. Their everyday jobs are dull enough so they most certainly don’t want to hire a creative professional who starts out being boring from the very first meeting.

In this post, I want to explore how your enthusiasm can spread like a wild fire with prospective clients who will open up their wallets just to be able to have you around longer. Click Here to Continue Reading…
